Hunan Province and Baidu Sign Agreement Targeting Automotive, Smart City Advances

The Hunan Province government has signed a strategic collaboration framework agreement with leading internet and artificial intelligence (AI) firm Baidu. The relationship will leverage Hunan Province’s industrial advantages, such as industry, science and education, transportation, talents and production factors, together with Baidu’s AI, cloud computing, big data and other technological advantages.

The two sides will drive AI, cloud calculation, big data and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in Hunan Province based on Baidu Cloud’s technology. On the manufacturing front, Baidu will help Hunan build AI-based enterprise energy management systems, cloud energy management platforms, and smart upgrades.

Additional areas of focus will include autonomous driving technology, as well as research in test, technology development, operation management, standards, data services, education and training, application and policy innovation, and overall solutions.

Anlogic Technology Announces ELF3 FPGA Series

Shanghai Anlogic Technology has launched its third-generation “Little Elf” series of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products offering high performance and low power consumption, together with associated development software.

The ELF3 series’ three FPGA devices—EF3L15, EF3L40 and EF3L90—feature low-power 55nm process design; on-chip integrated FLASH requiring no external configuration chip needed; and LUT4/5 mixed-logic architecture with Anlogic’s IP. Compared with the previous-generation ELF2, the ELF3 devices offer higher capacity and more packaging options. They also have more FPGA logic resources for display control and motor control applications and more I/O for communication interface, server and storage applications.

Markets that will most benefit from deploying ELF3 FPGAs include communications, industrial control and servers.
