185 Major Projects to Launch in Wuxi
In recent news, the city of Wuxi has stated a large amount of new industrial projects are to be launched in 2020. According to Wuxi Boxing News, 185 major projects will be launched, with a total investment of 116.6 billion yuan.
These major projects range from areas in strategic emerging industries to advanced manufacturing, and many more. One of the biggest projects to come is Yixing Zhonghuan’s leading large-diameter epitaxial wafer project for integrated circuits. With a total investment of 3.05 billion yuan, the company plans to build an 8- to 12-inch silicon epitaxial wafer production line. This line is predicted to have a monthly output of 300,000 8-inch and 100,000 12-inch wafers.
Other major project announcements include Jimxi 12-inch integrated circuit advanced process technology and equipment, Laplac Semiconductor’s high-end equipment project, and Jiangyin Xinjie’s semiconductor cleaning equipment project.
Third-Generation Semiconductor Industry Base Project Begins in Xuzhou
On January 2nd, the city of Xuzhou held a ceremony to celebrate plans to launch 136 projects in 2020, the largest of which is the start of the third-generation semiconductor industry base for Tianhe Communication. This project has a total investment of 78.2 billion yuan and a planned investment of 46.8 billion yuan a year.
The Xizhou projects include 57 strategic emerging industry projects with an investment of 37.2 billion yuan, 62 advanced manufacturing projects with an investment of 31.4 billion yuan and 17 modern service industry projects with an investment of 9.6 billion yuan.
The third-generation semiconductor industry base project has a total investment of 6 billion yuan and a building area of 420,000 square meters. Once this base reaches full production, the total amount of high-power LED chips manufactured will be the second-highest in the world. This project will help Xuzhou to build an entire third-generation semiconductor industrial chain and will help establish a new core for China’s integrated circuit and ICT industry.
