German Selano Co. Launches Energy Cell Project
Germany’s Selano Co. held a launch ceremony in Nanjing for its new energy cell project. According to the official information, the total investment for this project will be 1 billion euro, with capacity of 15 billion watt-hours.
Phase I of the operation is expected to be up and running by the end of 2020, with Phase III completed and in operation by the end of 2025. Expected revenue will be 15 billion yuan when the project is fully ramped into production.
JLQ Technology Headquarters in Chengdu
JLQ Technology will establish its headquarters in the Shuangliu District of Chengdu, becoming the first semiconductor design company to do so. Reportedly, the new headquarters will open this June. JLQ also plans to launch a system-on-chip (SoC) chip project, with a total investment of 10.4 billion yuan and an R&D team of 400.
JLQ Technology was co-founded by Beijing Jianguang Capital Management Corp., Leadcore Technology, Datang, Qualcomm and Beijing Zhilu Asset Management Co. on May 2018. It mainly designs, packages, tests and sells chipset solutions focused on the mobile phone market, and develops SoC mobile phone chips aimed at the middle and low end of the market.
Suzhou IC Achieved 46.776-Billion Yuan Revenue in 2018
At the Suzhou Integrated Circuit Industrial Association (SICIA) recent annual meeting, the association reviewed the Suzhou IC industry’s accomplishments in 2018.
The statistical data shows that the Suzhou IC industry reached total revenue of 46.776 billion yuan in 2018 overall, representing 7.1% year-on-year growth. Of this total, 4.584 billion yuan came from IC design, 2.222 billion yuan from IC wafer manufacturing, 28.439 billion yuan from IC packaging and test, and 11.531 billion yuan from equipment, material and supporting enterprises.
