ASR 4G Processor Passes China Mobile VoLTE Chip Certification

Intel’s announcement of its withdrawal from the mobile chip market will bring considerable changes to the market. However, China company, ASR Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Is poised for growth.

ASR’s VoLTE chip ASR8751C has passed the China Mobile VoLTE chip certification test and VoLTE voice and video. As such, ASR is now a new mobile chip manufacturer that can compete with Qualcomm, MediaTek, Huawei, HiSilicon and Spreadtrum.

ASR was established in April 2015 by RDA Microelectronics’ founder Vincent Tai. As a new player, ASR is dedicated to the platform development, solution and technical support of smartphones and Internet of Things (IoT) chips, and possesses complete baseband platform R&D capabilities.

Following its establishment, ASR acquired South Korea’s Alphean and Jiangsu Smart IC, giving them access baseband technology chip development. In 2017, ASR acquired Marvell’s mobile communications division and all Marvell mobile communications baseband IP, some product lines and a mature baseband R&D team.
