During this past week, multiple IC industry investment funds were signed and agreed upon for new projects. Both funds will assist in bringing new, high-technology companies to multiple Chinese technology zones. Along with this news, the IoTE announced its event will still be held in-person from July 29-31 in Shenzhen. Read more here:

Suzhou High-Tech Zone Unveils IC Industry Innovation Center

On July 22, the Integrated Circuit (IC) Industry Innovation Center of Suzhou High-tech Zone was unveiled. A large number of high-quality projects are signed on to move and launch once the center opens.

An IC industry investment fund has invested a total of 10 billion yuan in the Innovation Center, while new IC industry policies were released. The fund was set up by several local government funds at all levels, together with industrial capital and financial organizations. The first phase of 3 billion yuan will focus on investment in ICs, 5G communications, and other new technologies.

With the center covering an area of 100,000 square meters, it strives to attract more than 200 leading IC design and application companies in the next three to five years. With these leading enterprises on board, the center aims to achieve an output value of 3-5 billion yuan, while comprehensively enhancing the independent innovation ability and industrialization level of the regional IC industry.

In addition, the new policy for the IC industry in the Suzhou High-tech Zone provides a high number and proportion of subsidies for the IC industry in the first round of tape-out costs and IP purchases. The zone also encourages the establishment of public technology and service platforms, to further increases overall support.

Joint Fund Set Up to Attract IC Projects

On July 20, China Fortune-Tech Capital and Jiashan Government of Zheijiang Province held a signing ceremony for the first batch of new projects. The strategic collaboration agreement between the two parties will focus on high-technology industries such as ICs.

To implement the agreement, the Jiashan Economy & Development Zone and China Fortune-Tech Capital will jointly establish an IC industry fund with a total of 1 billion yuan. This fund will focus on investment opportunities for upstream and downstream companies in the semiconductor industry chain.

The fund was established to attract IC projects to settle in the Jiashan Economy & Development Zone. Other projects, including Tangren MicroTelligence’s semiconductor equipment HQ project and Lansus Technology’s RF chip design and packaging project, also signed on during the Monday ceremony.

Tangren MicroTelligence specializes in R&D and production of advanced IC packaging and testing equipment within the field of assembly and testing. It plans to set up a group headquarters covering 20 acres in the Jiashan Economy & Development Zone. The project has a total investment of 300 million yuan.
