The Account Associate is an entry-level PR and marketing position, primarily responsible for assisting with day-to-day tactical execution and reporting on behalf of clients. This position is for individuals who have gained practical PR and marketing experience from previous internships and have a great desire to continue down that career path within a modern communications agency setting. The position is based out of our San Francisco office and primarily supports the renewables team along with some consumer or technology clients.

Office is located near Embarcadero BART and Ferry Building.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree in communications or related field
  • Completion of a previous PR or marketing internship and basic understanding of major PR tactics and the agency-client relationship
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Strong writing skills, including a creative voice and working knowledge of AP style writing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable with learning a wide range of technology, such as platforms for managing or monitoring social media and press coverage (HeyOrca, Meltwater, Coverage Book), digital marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, SharpSpring), basic graphics editing tools for social media posts, online marketing tools (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn promoted posts)
  • Focused, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Experience with, and a solid understanding of, social media activities and content development
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently multi-task and effectively manage their priorities and time
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for technologies that address climate change

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support senior team members to manage client accounts across an array of PR and marketing activities
  • Assists with developing strategic client plans
  • Draft press materials, media pitches and other collateral needs
  • Build media and blog lists and conduct outreach to secure client coverage
  • Develop briefing books and staff media interviews
  • Track and report media coverage
  • Develop social media strategies, content and campaigns
  • Provide social media community engagement on behalf of the client
  • Support event planning and execution, including vendor research, logistics and budget management
  • Research and apply for speaking and award opportunities
  • Work with our internal Design Studio to create client marketing collateral
  • Work with our Digital Marketing team to manage client activities, including SEO, PPC and email marketing campaigns
  • Manage client activity tracker
  • Manage client meeting agenda, recaps and monthly reports
