Shanghai SGR and Xiamen KeyTop Launch Commercial Millimeter Wave Radar Gate Solution
Shanghai SGR and Xiamen KeyTop together announced validation of a commercial millimeter wave radar gate solution. Developed through the collaborative efforts of the two companies, it will be for next-generation smart gate systems.
SGR Semiconductors, Inc., located in the automobile manufacturing city of Jiading, is a spin-out company from the RFIC Department of the Shanghai Micro Technology Industry Research Institute. The company focuses on the development of millimeter-wave radar chips and developed the first highly integrated 24GHz radar system-on-chip with domestic independent intellectual property rights. Meanwhile, the company is developing a series of high-integration products of 24GHz and 77GHz.
Xiamen KeyTop is a provider of domestic professional smart-parking solutions and the operator of city-level smart parking.
BOE Reports Growth in Patent Portfolio and Shipments for 2018
According to its 2018 patent and shipments reports, LCD display manufacturer BOE is first in the market to achieve 24% year-on-year growth for display shipments. The company reports that revenue on LCD TV panel shipments will reach $54.3 million, higher than both LG and Innolux, which weighed in at $48.6 million and $45.1 million, respectively.
Additionally, BOE applied for 9,585 patents in 2018, comprising 90% invention patents, 38% overseas patents covering regions like the U.S., Korea, Japan, Europe, etc. The company currently holds over 70,000 patents, of which 1,634 are U.S. patents.
